The investment in this truck:
$6800+ for dealer installed engine.
$680 Turbo installed with the engine.
$1700+ for exhaust system engine back including Isuzu damper.
$300+ for new batteries and reworking of battery cables.
$970 for last road service which included labor, but at least $440 for 4 brand new tires (less than 2 miles on them).
This doesn't include small items here and there such as mud flaps, brake pedal, etc.

This amounts to over $9920.00 (on the low side). If you were to buy any other used truck, you wouldn't have all of these parts newly installed or updated. You're saving thousands on these expenses that could hit any truck down the road no matter how old it is. This essentially means I am giving away the cab, frame and box and not even charging for the custom paint job. =)

History:
This truck was never a Ryder, Budget, U-Haul or Penske, it had 3 owners.
First was "Total Care" based in New Jersey. They delivered medical equipment. I am assuming they had a 3 year or less lease. The last sticker from them in the truck has 1991 on it.
Second was "Strange As Angels", a Delaware Valley based cover band that put a lot of miles on the truck driving to and from the Jersey Shore, Vermont, Delaware, Virginia ... all over. The truck lived in North Jersey at that time. They installed the ramp, a kill switch and beefed the GVW to 15,000.
Third is me.
I bought the truck early 1999. I had the new engine dealer installed. Put in a new exhaust system from the engine all the way back including the brake damper. New wiper motor. I used the truck much as Strange did hauling my sound system and band gear. This truck went through YUMM! for 2 years. Weekend at Bernie's for 3 years and then took a break for a year. It's an awesome truck with a lot of history. I own the truck and hold the clear title.

Being that Strange and I were in the same business, I can tell you almost all of the mileage is from highway driving. Getting to out of state shows and long hauls down the shore or up to the ski resorts. This past October I drove this truck on 2.5 to 3 hour trips amounting to 100 to 250 miles each way.

Reason for Selling:
I started doing sound for Octane September of 2004 and the truck started right up for me and was ready for work! But the box was just too small for all of the additional gear. We did pack it in there for a month, but the truck was overloaded and loading was difficult with stacking, etc. I bought a 25,950 GVW 20' top-kick in October 2004 and parked the Isuzu in a nice neighborhood. Turns out it wasn't so nice. The truck had graffiti all over it and 4 tires were slashed. 4/04/05 I paid for road service to come out and replace the two front and two passenger rear tires so they're all new. The driver's side rear tires are close to new as well with plenty of tread. It had had grafitti on it before and was removed with cleaner. This also removed some of the box paint, so this time white exterior paint was used to cover it up. I am selling this truck because I have nowhere to store it, and I really have no use for it anymore. I have always loved driving it because of the cab over design and the tight turns you can make. But again, I really don't have a use for it so I must sell it.

Condition:
Body: There are no major dents. There is rust around some edges just like all Isuzu trucks with this cab type. The rusty edges never bothered me. It's a truck, I never really cared what it looked like, I only cared that it started when I turned the key and hauled my gear. When I touched up the paint to cover the graffiti I did not paint over any rust. Not hiding anything. The driver's side exterior door handle is new. I tried to take pictures everywhere someone would be interested in seeing including rusty areas. If you need more pics I can post them easily, just email.
Box: 14 foot Morgan box does not leak. Interior light works. Luan is complete except near load area there are some broken boards (you can see in pictures). These boards are pushed back from the aluminum supports where pressure pushed them back. They don't need to be replaced in my opinion. Has tie loops on the sides. Roll up door is solid. Some wheels missing on the door but does not affect operation or security.
Motor: New diesel engine dealer installed with only 36,152 miles on it. When I picked it up from the dealer, the first thing I did was pull down the visor and write the mileage on it with a Sharpie (this is in the pics). New turbo also installed at this time. No leaks. Have floored it all the way down Route 55 to the shore in the middle of summer. Maintained about 75MPH with a full load and never overheated. This truck has never overheated.
Transmission: Automatic. When not loaded, the shift is a little weird due to not having a load on it. I have experienced this in my Chevy cargo van (which preceeded this truck) and even in my new 20' top-kick. I got used to shifting the AT with the fuel pedal and I was never disappointed with its performance. I mention this because I am not a mechanic, but I have never had any problems with the trans. All heavy duty trucks with hefty transmissions shift better with a load.
Wipers: New wiper motor was installed. This required disassembling most of the dashboard and waiting 2 weeks for an Isuzu part. After this was completed, the passenger wiper blade had a habit of not staying on. I think the little nubby thing is worn down. The wiper would fall off and the arm would be right against the windshield. In the extended pics, there is a picture where you can see this arc ... I finally removed the arm and it is on the floor of the cab. So if it rains, I only have the driver side blade. I never did get to either replacing the arm or rigging a way to keep the wiper blade on the existing arm. This can be fixed before sale at buyer's request and additional expense.
Lights: All headlamps, brakelamps and marker lights work. Reverse lights trigger backup beeper. Cab interior map light on switch. Box interior light powered by lighted switch in cab. If the box light is on, this switch is illuminated.
Gauges: All gauges work. There is a trip odometer. I don't know if the "low fuel" gauge works because I never ran out of fuel. I guess this says that the fuel gauge itself is very accurate. It does light up when the key is turned as all the other idiot lights do as well.
Interior: I say the interior is excellent, but I am comparing this to other trucks I've looked at. Before purchasing this truck, I looked at used Ryder and Budget Isuzus. They were missing things; No ashtray, no glovebox cover. Shift plates missing, etc. This truck is older but more intact than any of the used and abused rental trucks. The seats have normal wear on them. The driver's seat is a little rocky, but it never bothered me, it is adjustable. Storage area behind passenger and driver's seats. Everything is there. Cigarette lighter works.

Overall:
I have described this truck to the best of my abilities as an individual of a privately owned vehicle. I have had the truck regularly inspected and maintained at Daley's Truck Service in Cornwells Heights, PA. Whenever it needed something for inspection I installed or replaced it. New mud flaps, new brake pedal, marker lights, etc. They installed the muffler system and wiper motor. Again, the engine and turbo were installed by an Isuzu dealer in New Jersey. That's the reason I had to replace the engine. The turbo broke sending oil into the engine and I didn't know how to kill it. The engine ran away in Park and eventually killed it all by itself. I still kick myself to this day about that. Cost me over $6800 for the engine. Just the road service on the tires cost me $968.08. I would rather see someone using this truck rather than me trying to find a place to keep it and keep it safe. It would be great if another sound guy picked it up, but you can use the truck for anything.

Pictures:
The pictures represent what a working truck looks like. The engine hasn't been steam cleaned or detailed. Hoses haven't been Armor Alled nor have the tires (TIP: Armor All dries out rubber! Don't use it on any of your vehicles! There are other products that achieve the same result but do not ruin your investment). I mention this because sometimes dealers hide the things that ought to be obvious to the buyer, but buyer beware! Many tricks out there to hide the idiosyncrasies of these Isuzu trucks. My pics hide nothing and show what all working Isuzus look like. Not beat to crap rentals coming off lease detailed to look like new. If you look close, you can see the white spray paint on the bodies as well as the black spray paint on the frames. Eventually this stuff flakes off and the truck looks even worse.

More Pictures:
Over 150 pics available here: http://www.wombatsound.com/ebay/isuzu/.

All pictures were taken right after I moved the truck to my home. I did not clean the truck. I did not steam clean the engine. I did not paint over blemishes. The pictures represent the truck exactly as it sits. It's not all dealered up to look like a million dollars. I think this shows an honest representation of this truck. If there are any pics you would like me to take, I would be happy to accomodate anyone's wishes. If you're in the Philadelphia area, you're welcome to come visit the truck. The only digital editing to the pics were to take out my license plate. I don't necessarily know why people do this, but I figured I should too.

Misc:
I have tried to be as complete as possible in this description. If there is anything I missed, please email me to revise this auction. If you have any questions email me. Thank you.

Warranty:
There is no way I can predict the future. I have had this truck for 6 years and have had no major problems with it other than my own stupid learning mistakes (engine). I relied on this truck to start every weekend and that's what it has done and continues to do whenever I need it. That was the most important thing to me. But, I have to say in this auction that there is no warranty. I am not a dealer nor am I a mechanic, so I cannot warranty any part of the truck. I offer at buyer's expense to have the truck checked out by Daley's. They probably can provide the service history, but I can't guarantee this. All I know is everytime I asked them when something was done they were able to look it up on their computer. I can definitely without a doubt guarantee that this a great truck, and I will surely miss it.

Shipping:
Buyer is responsible for all shipping & handling. Best scenario is probably to pick it up and drive it home. The Isuzu is ready to drive anywhere. I will assist in any way I can including filling the tank to the top with diesel.
