Here is a list of my experience:

Going way back
Since the third grade, I've been a musician ... starting on trumpet. In high school, there weren't enough trombone players, so I switched to baritone horn transposing F clef into G clef so I could play the bari just like a trumpet. All throughout school, I was also a canary.

During my time in high school, I picked up the guitar. Formed a garage band that played in the garage a lot. I started "clubbing" in 1980. Local bands like the Dead End Kids, Witness, Slyder (LeCompt) were regulars. Also, my oldest brother Tom was in a club band, and I would go out with them doing various things. My brother Bill was involved with the production of the two bands Tom was playing with, Cisum (music spelled backwards) and Toker.

Started recording original music at about the age of 18 on a 4 track. Bouncing tracks all over and mixing in what was needed. Finally bought an 8 track reel to reel and even did some band demos. Also got together with childhood friend Tony and he started building a PA. We took that PA out once or twice, but mostly used it for practicing in the basement with the monitor system. Before that PA was complete, we would go out and help local Kensington star Sky Brady with his sound system. A fine tuned 12 channel Kelsey did the job back then (As long as you hit it in the right spot).

In transition
Started DJing part time and put together a small PA rather than the normal DJ mixer and tables. Eventually used this small PA to do sound for the first band I was in that actually needed sound.  The band lasted 7 months on the C circuit, and I went back to DJing for another 2 years.

More Recent
November 1996 to April 1997 • Weekend at Bernie's
November 1996, that DJ/PA system became Weekend at Bernie's sound system with a little help from what Weekend at Bernie's was already using. While doing their sound with this "throw-together" PA, I bought and built. Better speakers ... amps ... monitors ... power tap ...

April 1997 to September 1997 • The Zone
By April of 1997 I went broke doing Bernie's sound and trying to build a better system. I teamed up with a partner who had the means to complete this system. This partnership was known as Tower 12 Productions. I learned a lot during this period even though it was short. The Zone took us to many rooms on the Philadelphia, New Jersey circuit. I worked with Tower 12 doing The Zone exclusively until I moved on September 1997.

September 1997 to September 1998 • Animal House
September 1997 I took what I had of a PA system at the time and joined that with what Animal House had at the time. November 1997, I was able to complete my PA system enough to have a pro system working on its own. Throughout this time I continued to build a better PA system replacing and adding different components.

September 1998 to August 2000 • YUMM!
September 1998 after a year with Animal House, I went with the drummer and front man to Rumblefish which shortly became YUMM!. I have continued to buy and build my system and now I have a killer FOH and 6 mix monitor system. I bought Strange As Angels old Isuzu NPR and now have the means to move the PA and full band gear. I also bought a small light show to do smaller jobs.

September 2000 to September 2003 • Weekend at Bernie's
It's been 3 and a half years, and now I'm back with the Bernie boys. I'm now coming to them with one of the biggest and best sound systems on the Delaware Valley Circuit. Sadly, I leave a 3 year connection with drummer Joe Albright who I've made loud for the past 3 years with Animal House and YUMM!. Weekend at Bernie's has grown a lot since last doing their sound in 1997. They have grown in members as well as fans.

October 2003 to Present • Whiskey Tango
When Love Seed was going through their transition in sound companies, I was asked to come in and mix them for The Whiskey Tango since they knew I was recently free from doing W@B. The band manager and club owners were happy with the results, and I filled in for the current house engineer. He never came back. I have been there 6 nights a week ever since.

In Conclusion
I have been involved with music and performing since the third grade. I have been involved and aware of the live club circuit for the past 20 years. I've been on and off the stage and am familiar with all aspects of both positions. I have mixed since the age of 18 when I started doing my own recordings. Live Sound is very different, and I have gotten the hang of that throughout my experience. I've seen & heard weird things and now know where to go & look first. Since having my own system tapped in with reliable power, I've never had a problem. I have built a great, clean and sound (pun intended) system with reliable transportation. There is nothing I can't do ...

In the time that I've done these bands exclusively, of course I've taken other jobs on off nights, and had openers or multi-band events. Those other bands are listed in the bands section of this web site. Thanks for reading!
